Monday morning Enrico Palermo from The Spaceship Company
(TSC) gave a $3,000 donation to the College and Career Club at MJSHS and Dr.
Aguirre accepts the donation. .
Parents and Guardians,
The district has established a Task Force to explore the
safest and most effective way to open the 2020/21 school year, and has conducted
multiple meetings. The recommendations of this Task Force will be presented at
the June 23rd board meeting.
The CDE has also released guidance for school districts to
consider while planning for re-opening, titled “Stronger Together,” which can be

If you have not done

The Mojave Unified School District is in the
process of evaluating our approach to distance learning during this
unprecedented closure. In order to better serve our students remotely we need
to know how many families have access to devices and internet at home. We are
asking that you complete the following survey (only one time per household) to
help us better support our students. The survey will display in both English
and Spanish, and we need your help to get the word out and get as many

Based on direction received by Kern
County Superintendent of Schools and the Kern County Public Health Department,
MUSD Schools will be closed until April 14th. No confirmed cases
have been reported in Kern County at the time of this posting. We recommend
that all families follow the precautions and social distancing recommendations

Mr. Josh Sexton
District Behavior Intervention Coordinator
For Immediate Release: November 8, 2019
On November 5, 2019, the governing board of trustees approved Mr. Josh Sexton as the District Behavior Intervention Coordinator. This position will enhance MUSD’s Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS) efforts and is funded through a grant recently awarded to the District.
Mr. Sexton is currently in his ninth year working in the field of education. Mr. Sexton has spent the last five school years serving as the Behavior Intervention Coordinator at Robert P. Ulrich Elementary School. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from California State University, Bakersfield and Multi-Tier System of Supports/PBIS certification from Portland State University and is currently working on his Master’s Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis at Arizona State University. Mr. Sexton is a graduate of the Mojave Unified School District.
Our Next AAAC Meeting will be
held on November 13th, with a special meeting to follow on November 20th.

welcomes our new Principal for California City Middle School, Mr. Ed Campbell!
For
Immediate Release: July 1, 2019
On
June 27, 2019, the governing Board of Trustees approved Edward Campbell as the
new Principal of California City Middle School. Mr. Campbell has been involved
in education for the last twenty-two years, fourteen as a classroom teacher and
eight years as a high school administrator. Currently, and for the last three
years, Mr. Campbell has served as the Continuation Sites Principal in the
Fontana Unified School District. Prior to working in Fontana, Mr. Campbell also
worked as a teacher in the Southern Kern Unified School District and the
Antelope Valley Union High School District. Mr. Campbell is a life-long
resident of the Antelope Valley who graduated from Quartz Hill High School and
Antelope Valley College before moving on to California State University
Bakersfield (CSUB) where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science.
Additionally, Mr. Campbell completed his teaching credential and Masters of
Educational Administration at CSUB. Mr. Campbell and his wife of thirty-four
years reside in Quartz Hill and have two sons, both of whom are employed in the
field of education.

For Immediate Release: September 7, 2018
The
Mojave Unified Board of Trustees approved the appointment of
Nauman
Zaidi as the new principal of Mojave Elementary school at its
August
9, 2018 regular board meeting.
Mr.
Zaidi spent the majority of his administrative career as an assistant
principal
at Joshua Hills Elementary School from 2013 to 2017, and as an
assistant
principal at Cactus Middle School from 2011 to 2013 - both in the
Palmdale
School District. He also served as the
assistant principal and
athletic
director in the Tahoe - Truckee Unified and Santa Monica Unified
School
districts.
Mr.
Zaidi began his teaching career in LAUSD, teaching pre-algebra and
algebra,
and taught math and science in the Coachella Valley Unified School
District
prior to promoting to an administrator position.
In
his past assistant principal positions, Mr. Zaidi has mentored teachers,
implemented
anti-bullying programs, served as testing coordinator, provided
curriculum
development and improvement, increased parent involvement,
provided
technology support and worked on closing the achievement gap, to
name
some of his competencies and experience.
Mr.
Zaidi earned his Bachelor of Science from University of California,
Riverside
and his Master of Arts in education with an administrative credential
from
Cal State San Bernardino. He holds a teaching credential in mathematics
from
UCLA.
“It
is truly a blessing and an honor to be joining the team of educators in Mojave
Unified,”
Zaidi said. “I look forward to working collaboratively with all members
of
the Mojave community to meet the diverse needs of our students. Go Colts!”

Zaidi replaces Mr. Dan Sexton, who is now the Director of Curriculum
Integration
and
Educational Partnerships for Mojave Unified.
