MEAL PRICES
ELEMENTARY
Breakfast costs $1.50 and Lunch costs $2.75 at full price. Breakfast costs $0.25 and lunch costs $0.40 at reduced price, and free to those that qualify.
MIDDLE SCHOOL AND HIGH SCHOOL
Breakfast cost $1.75 and Lunch costs $3.00 at full price. Breakfast costs $0.25 and lunch costs $0.40 at reduced price, and free to those that qualify.
ADULT MEALS
Breakfast costs $2.00 and Lunch costs $3.75
MEAL PAYMENTS
Meal Payments – Prepayment for school meals is strongly encouraged and can be made in one of two ways: One; sending cash, check or money order (made out to the school’s café) to your student’s school cafeterias or two, by going on line to www.myschoolbucks.com and following the instructions. When paying at the school site, households with more than one child at the same school should designate the amount of money to be placed into each child’s account, as account balances cannot be shared. Please remember to indicate your child’s name in the memo section of the check or money order.
SPECIAL OFFER FOR PREPAID MEALS
Mojave Unified School District Food Service Department would like to offer a discount on Prepaid Meals. Simply purchase twenty meals (20 breakfasts or 20 lunches) and receive two meals Free! You are not limited to paying for twenty meals, you may prepay for as many meals, in advance, as you wish, but you must purchase at least twenty meals to receive the two free meals. Please be aware: to take advantage of this option you must first pay off any balances owed to the Food Service Department.
ALA CARTE
Ala carte options are offered at Middle Schools and High Schools.
Ala carte and Snack Cart Stations are cash only, at the point of sale.
MEAL APPLICATIONS
Free and reduced price breakfasts and lunches are provided for qualifying students through the
National School Lunch and Breakfast Programs. Meal applications are available at each of our school sites.
Please remember in order for students to qualify for the free and reduced program, a new application must
be completed and returned for each new school year.
ALTERNATE MEALS
Mojave Unified School District Food Service Department, offers students that do not have money to purchase a full meal, an alternate meal. The Food Service Department does not allow students to charge meals. If there is an emergency and a student needs a meal, arrangements can be made through the Food Service Department and a meal will be provided. Parents may pay for the student’s emergency meal at the student’s school site.
National School Lunch Program
Free and Reduced Priced Meals are provided for qualifying students through the National Schools Lunch Program (NSLP). Please remember in order for students to qualify for the free and reduced lunch program, a new application must be completed at the beginning of the school year, upon entering or reentering the MUSD. The applications are available at each of our school sites or at either the Mojave or California City Registration offices. Upon filling out the application, please read it carefully, fill in all blanks, sign it and return it to your student’s school. As soon as the Food Service Department receives it and processes it, you will be notified of your qualification.
