Dear Mojave Unified School District families and staff,
Welcome back to a new school year!We are so pleased that everyone will be back on
campus soon. This promises to be a great year, full of new learning and great
accomplishments.
Our staff has been busy preparing for everyone's return all summer. Our grounds
keepers, maintenance staff, custodial staff, and many teachers and administrators have
been getting our school sites ready and planning the beginning of the school year.
This year we will begin with eight full days focused on getting familiar with each school
site, learning how to access resources, learning and practicing how to be a great student
and friend, and how each classroom will be managed for the best possible learning
environment. Parents will be invited to meetings that will provide information on
expectations, reward systems, consequences, attendance, graduation/promotion
requirements, and how to become an active part of your child's education. Please check
your school's website for specific information on events happening at each.
Please take some time to review the calendar for this year and try to ensure that all
appointments are made after school or during breaks. We know that everyone wants
every child to be a great student and being in class is the best way to achieve that goal.
With all of the learning and activities that have been planned for the year, your child will
be excited to be at school daily.
We look forward to seeing everyone at the scheduled Meet and Greets as well as
upcoming back to school meetings.

lBienvenidos a un nuevo afio escolar! Estamos muy contentos de que todos regresen
pronto al campus. Este promete ser un gran afio, lleno de nuevos aprendizajes y grandes
logros.
Nuestro personal ha estado ocupado prepar6ndose para el regreso de todos durante todo
el verano. Nuestros encargados de terrenos, personal de mantenimiento, personal de
limpieza y muchos maestros y administradores han estado preparando nuestras escuelas y
planificando el comienzo del affo escolar.
Este aflo comenzaremos con ocho dias completos enfocados en familiarizarnos con cada
sitio escolar, aprender c6mo acceder a los recursos, aprender y practicar c6mo ser un gran
estudiante y amigo, y c6mo se administrarhcada sal6n de clases para lograr el mejor
entorno de aprendizaje posible. Se invitar6 a los padres a reuniones que brindar6n
informaci6n sobre expectativas, sistemas de recompensas, consecuencias, asistencia,
requisitos de graduaci6n/promoci6n y c6mo convertirse en una parte activa de la
educaci6n de su hijo. Consulte el sitio web de su escuela para obtener informaci6n
especffica sobre los eventos que ocuren en cada uno.
T6mese un tiempo para revisar el calendario de este aflo y trate de asegurarse de que
todas las citas se hagan despu6s de la escuela o durante los descansos. Sabemos que todos
quieren que cada niflo sea un gran estudiante y estar en clase es la mejor manera de lograr
ese objetivo. Con todo el aprendizaje y las actividades que se han planeado para el affo,
su hijo estpr6 emocionado de estar en la escuela todos los dias.

Good afternoon,

We wanted to provide an update on the investigation regarding Instagram posts threatening California City High School. The investigation is ongoing and CCPD has been working on all of the information that has been provided. Based on information that the original poster might have been a particular student at CCHS, a student was questioned and officers do not believe that they were part of the threat. Officers are continuing to work on the information they have.  A huge thank you and all of our appreciation for the work they have done on this issue.

We will be holding classes tomorrow and CCPD will be present during the day.  We understand that each family will make their own decision about attending classes, but we wanted to keep everyone informed about the officers being close by. If you choose to keep your child home please just let the school office know and we will verify the absence. (Which means it was a parental decision and not a student decision.) We are asking that no backpacks or large bags are brought to school for the remainder of the school year. Very small bags will be permitted for personal items. Please leave all other bags at home. This is a precaution and I know that everyone understands its importance.

We will have increased security at all end of the year events and will also ask that no bags be brought with anyone. CCPD is also aware of our events and will have an increased presence. Again, our thanks.

We consider any threat to our students, staff, or schools an emergency and will treat them as such. Thank you to everyone for their patience and understanding but especially for ensuring that any information about this issue got to the authorities.

Buenas tardes,

Queríamos brindar una actualización sobre la investigación con respecto a las publicaciones de Instagram que amenazan a la escuela secundaria de la ciudad de California. La investigación está en curso y CCPD ha estado trabajando en toda la información que se ha proporcionado. Según la información de que el cartel original podría haber sido un estudiante en particular en CCHS, se interrogó a un estudiante y los oficiales no creen que fuera parte de la amenaza. Los oficiales continúan trabajando en la información que tienen. Un enorme agradecimiento y todo nuestro reconocimiento por el trabajo que han realizado en este tema.

Estaremos dando clases mañana y CCPD estará presente durante el día. Entendemos que cada familia tomará su propia decisión sobre asistir a clases, pero queríamos mantener a todos informados sobre la presencia de los oficiales cerca. Si elige mantener a su hijo en casa, simplemente informe a la oficina de la escuela y verificaremos la ausencia. (Lo que significa que fue una decisión de los padres y no de los estudiantes). Pedimos que no se traigan mochilas o bolsos grandes a la escuela durante el resto del año escolar. Se permitirán bolsas muy pequeñas para artículos personales. Por favor, deje todas las demás bolsas en casa. Esta es una precaución y sé que todos entienden su importancia.

Aumentaremos la seguridad en todos los eventos de fin de año y también pediremos que nadie traiga bolsos. CCPD también está al tanto de nuestros eventos y tendrá una mayor presencia. De nuevo, nuestro agradecimiento.
